Christmas Clearance

I absolutely love after Christmas clearance. I love clearance even more when it's down to the bare bones & 90% off. I found two loves for less than $2 each at World Market. The burlap with rhinestones stocking is perfect for our #2, Lauren. I hated to hang the stocking for the pictures and then to tuck it away for a year. Lauren is ready for Christmas again. She asks me or her dad to"put the tree back up." It really is so sweet!

A little washed out. I'm still learning how to use my camera.

I love when I can literally buy myself something with the change in my pocket. The seahorse is perfect for me, but needed a makeover first! My sister, Lisa, was with me. Great minds think alike! She had to get one too. I'll feature her fabulous home in a future post. A little peek of Lisa's home is the bulletin board the seahorse (After) is hanging on.

A Quick Fix

A few short months ago I picked up this cute little bird towel hook at the Hob Lob. I do love it, however I really dislike that the towel falls off.

I had a brillant idea. I"ll sew on a loop of ribbon. So I got out the sewing machine and picked a ribbon. I'm out of funky ribbon, so I kept it simple. Next time its 50% off @ Hob Lob I'll pick some up. One towel done. A million few to go.

Make a little loop and stitch closed.

I turned the loop inside out. Folded the towel in half. Pinned the loop to the towel & did a straight stitch. Voile'!

Some more bathroom pictures since we're here anyway. =) There is still work to be done. Like picking out some light fixtures. The flooring is recycled roof slate. I have a love/hate relationship with it.

Under Construction

Caleb is our 3rd born and only BOY! He is 6 weeks old and quite a hunk. Today we I took him to the Dr for shots and to be weighed in. He had to weigh in like an athlete because he's quite the chunk. As suspected,he packed on 5 pounds and grew 4 inches. You'd think there's butter in his milk. Last week we started to set up his room.(The pics. aren't great.Sorry! They're from my phone.) We got lucky with the room color because his sister had a Lilly Pulitzer theme and the walls are still in good shape. It's apple green on 2 walls with wainscoating & Khaki on the other.
There's a blog I love!!!!!!!!!!!! rareandbeautifultreasures.com Her bedding is beautiful.I would probably have did something close to her style but, my mother-in-law's friend at work thought her daughter was going to have a boy &.. It's a girl! So we were Blessed! We were given the whole bedding set. I totally love it! And FREE is always good. It was new, still in its packaging. The bedding yes is made in some foreign country is who we are. We have a bobcat (machine), the Mr.'s dad is a contractor, and our very good friends own a big construction company. Our friends (Gershenson Costruction) let us take some pics.of big equipment. I can't wait to frame and hang them! :)I want to paint the chest of drawers, but can't decide on a color. Any thoughts? The room is screaming for a rug.SO this is just the begining. I'll post an updated picture when it's done.

UGG

Yes I'd like a pair of UGGs, but thats not what I mean.3 laptops and not one was working. The newest one was 3 months and 8 days old. DEAD! Microcenter in Brentwood is phenomenal. We took it in. They handed us a new one, with all my pictures, etc on it. :)  The computer guy unscrewed this and that, pulled something from the old computer and put it on the new. Voile'. I love Microcenter!!! Life can return to "normal"! How is that computers and cell phones are such a huge part of our lives!? Ok lets get this show back on the road!

Happy Birthday dear Beni... Happy Birthday to me!

What is a Mom to do with her birthday money??? 38 years old and my Mom still gives me birthday money in my card. I still get a cake with candles too! :) Like almost every Mom I know, we spend the money on something we need. Some day I'll buy a $100 pair of jeans... just not right now. They wouldn't be the size I want anyway! I spent my birthday money on a new breast pump. Yes that's what I said. My Medela pump didn't survive & this is our last baby. I just couldn't make myself spend the money for a new Medela. because I'm to cheap Today I went to the Walmart and bought a new pump. I got a Lansinoh  manual pump. i REALLY LIKE IT. Happy wife & happy baby = happy liFe

New GirL (Beni) on the block

The dreaded first post~ I don't know why it's so dreaded. I didn't go to college to author a blog, look for junk treasures, or be a maid, teacher, or counselor mom. I however balance all of these with ease. Really not at all. So what will this blog entail; countless hours invested about treasures lost & found, bought & sold, and the time we spend  together as a family.
